Philosophy

Innovation and quality

Arenaways aims to redefine train travel by focusing on innovation and quality, approaching both local and long-distance routes with these criteria: an ambitious mission summarized in the payoff Rail Different.

In September 2024 at the InnoTrans fair in Berlin, we officially presented the livery of our first train: the smiling train! The concept features a stylised smile on the front of the engine to emphasise our traveller-centric approach.

Quality and innovation are complementary elements, characterising both the “on-board” and the “off-board”. From trains’ full accessibility to the engaging in a meaningful dialogue with passengers, from free infotainment to one of the most innovative ticketing systems in Europe up to the various services for customers, we are committed to the application and constant implementation of our Rail Different philosophy.

Arenaways trains are fully accessible to any kind of user, for a travel experience that aims for excellence. In our vision, it is the train the first tool to relieve the stress of travelling as well as a key element to further encourage people to prefer public transport over car.

False Myths
Some unknown truths to restore...

Private means higher prices... FALSE!

In traditional Italian railways, there are numerous unnecessary costs arising from inflexible and outdated organizational concepts, as well as a vision that is not focused on real results. Arenaways' operational management system is centered on maximum efficiency, derived from extensive knowledge of the European market and practical industry experience.

Highly motivated employees, an efficient Control Room, and a maintenance system are already enough to eliminate most of the managerial problems and “parasitic” costs.

It's not theory, it's experience: this is how most modern railways operate in Europe.

Monopolies benefit the public... FALSE!

The true cost of train travel for the citizen is not the ticket. Even those who don’t use the train contribute to paying for it, such as through management and train purchases; and if they do use it, they additionally pay for the ticket.

Governments abroad provide more funding to railways... FALSE!

In reality, they provide less and distribute it across different lines based on profitability.

Private operators exploit employees and only adopt temporary contracts... FALSE!

Arenaways applies the national contract for Railway Companies and has an innovative second-level agreement, with attractive benefits for all employees and the payment of a performance bonus, the calculation of which can be determined objectively and with great ease.

Private operators are only interested in high-speed trains... FALSE!

Arenaways is not interested in the high-speed sector, not because it is wrong, but simply because it focuses on operating in other market segments. Trains will once again play a primary role at the local level: the railway transport market offers numerous opportunities, and Arenaways will continue to provide a service where none exists.

Private operators are less safe... FALSE!

Arenaways ensures all routine and extraordinary maintenance of rolling stock, necessary to keep it in optimal safety and operational efficiency. The trains are also equipped with a public information system and an internal video surveillance system with control monitors, a Train Operation Control System SSB SCMT/SSC BL3 with high train operation protection, and a GSM-R radio communication system exclusively dedicated to controlling and operating railway traffic. The company is also committed to continuous improvement in staff training and updating. Furthermore, for railway operation safety, in compliance with legal provisions, personnel directly involved in railway operations undergo training sessions at least annually to maintain their skills, as well as health surveillance to ensure fitness for duty and to monitor risks related to drug and alcohol use.
